Our guests can expect the very best service when they recharge at The Cure. The Lodge is already beautifully designed and furnished but if you wish for something specific, and its within our power, we’ll do our best to grant that wish on your special escape to paradise! We can’t promise to have a bellbird outside your window every morning but pretty much anything else is possible!
Our peak season is between December and May so our services may be modified slightly in the shoulder season between September and November.
Please note that The Lodge is closed during the Winter months from 1 April to 30 September
The LODGE KITCHEN
The Cure at the Motueka River Lodge offers an array of dining with breakfast, canapés and dinner included in your tariff. We believe after a day of exploring the region, you will want return to the lodge and relax on the verandah with a select glass of wine, beer or soft drink, a beautiful freshly prepared platter of canapés, followed by our Chef’s Choice dinner. Selecting from our expansive organic vegetable gardens and orchards, coupled with wine from our boutique vineyard or other select and superb wineries, we maximize the use of locally-sourced produce to make your dining experience at The Cure a great way to begin and end the day. We also strive to customize meals to meet specific dietary needs and we have relationships with local restaurants to offer further dining options should that be of interest. Please enquire in advance regarding meal requirements or for further information.

Our guests fly in from all over the world - sometimes the only thing they want for the first couple of days is to be pampered and allowed to relax in peace and quiet. We can offer massage services, yoga and meditation in the garden with herbal teas or a relaxing glass of exquisite local wine.
Book a massage or beauty treatment - please let us know as soon as possible and in advance of your trip.
Upon request local yoga sessions can be organized at The Cure or at one of the local facilities

Relax and Rejuvenate
There’s endless adventure in the Nelson region - from fishing to hiking, sea kayaking to biking and vineyard fine dining. But, there will be moments when you need a vignette away from it all. For mindfulness, relaxation or simply a great book, you can retreat to many delightfully sequestered corners across the Lodge property allowing you to escape for 10 minutes or 10 hours!
Enjoy an afternoon tea sitting on the verandah overlooking the wooded backdrop, flower gardens and listen to vibrant New Zealand birdsong. Grab the tennis racquets (available upon request) and enjoy a tennis match on the property’s hard-surfaced tennis court. Wander through the Lodge’s very own protected New Zealand native forest walkway or stroll to the beautiful Motueka River bounding the property. Or simply lounge on deck chairs, sipping your favorite New Zealand wine or beer beneath the beautiful pagoda overlooking a terraced garden lined with blue hydrangeas.
For total body pampering, ask our host to arrange your choice of massage. Periodically, the owners are excited to offer Wellness and Relaxation Retreats - either full weeks or daily services for guests. During retreats, a highly trained professional resides on site to tailor-make the right mix of massage, meditation, yoga and, if desired, exercise classes to suit. Now you can truly escape, relax and rejuvenate both mind and body in one of the most beautiful spots in ‘Godzone’.

The Cure has WiFi throughout. TV is available for guests to watch if needed. There is a fully stocked wine cellar at The Cure that we are very proud of and that showcases many wines of the local region plus some stars from further afield.
TRANSPORTATION - we can arrange pick-ups, drop-offs at the airport or have a driver ready to take you out for the day.
HELI-PAD - If you are setting off on one of our tours or wish to arrive or depart by helicopter we have a heli-pad in the grounds of The Cure.
